About the role
National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Project Officer Native Title Negotiations to work as part of the team and contribute towards Aboriginal outcomes and the conservation of the natural environment.
Support NPWS in through native title negotiations across NSW by coordinating information and data gathering processes managing project activities providing highquality presentation materials and reports undertaking research and stakeholder engagement. This role works closely with the Team Leader and other members of the Native Title Management and Policy Unit to ensure compliance with native title and cultural heritage obligations while contributing to meaningful outcomes with Aboriginal communities.
About You
As a Project Officer you are adept at managing competing priorities and working collaboratively with inter-connected teams and across multiple organisations. Ideally you have experience handling high-volume and complex work.
In addition to your strong verbal and written communication skills you will have proven ability in the preparation of high level presentations. You will have strong skills in project management and coordination and an ability to facilitate input from various operational and program units to inform development of strategic documents.
Ideally you will have detailed knowledge and experience in data management be highly organised exercise sound judgement and discretion and adapt to new systems.
You should have an interest in native title and genuine intent to deliver positive Aboriginal outcomes.
It is essential that you are self-motivated and able to adjust to a high-volume workload small team.
Essential requirements - As detailed in the Role Description
- Experience in the interpretation and knowledge of legislative policy and cultural context relating to native title Aboriginal cultural heritage conservation and Aboriginal joint management of parks.
- Experience in development and delivery of projects including the development of project plans monitoring of project timelines budgets and reporting requirements and contract administration.
- Ability to undertake travel within NSW
- Current Australian Drivers Licence.
