Job Summary

The Gymnastics Summer Day Camp Instructor is responsible for gymnastics instruction for gymnasts ages 6-12 ranging from beginner to USAG Level 3/XCEL Gold skill levels. Instructors also oversee non-gymnastics programming including meal and snack periods warm-ups games contests and more!

Essential Duties:

  • Provide an excellent level of service for all participants and families
  • Maintain a positive attitude and high energy level throughout camp programming
  • Gym/equipment safety checks
  • Set up/tear down equipment
  • Plan age and level appropriate gymnastics lessons
  • Assess camper progress
  • Maintain safety of all assigned groups and areas
  • Supervise meal and snack periods
  • Camper check-in/out
  • Lead warm-ups games and contests
  • Attend all trainings and staff meetings
  • Additional duties as required

Required Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with children
  • CPR/FA/AED Certification (must be obtained by start date)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year of gymnastics coaching experience
  • Knowledge of the sport of gymnastics
  • Experience spotting gymnastics skills
  • Ability to manage a group of 6-9 children

Work Schedule

10-40 hours/week.

  • M-F 8:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m. (flexible schedule for hours per day and days per week available)
  • May 26 June 19th
  • July 6 August 21st

Hourly Range

The hourly range for this position is $19.50-$22.00

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate departmental budget availability internal salary equity considerations and available market information but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
