We are a fast-growing and dynamic organization seeking aDirectorAI Innovation & Partnershipsto join our team. The Director AI Innovation & Partnerships builds and directs a portfolio of cross-functional AI use cases across the company including discovery through clinical development regulatory/QA CMC Commercial and Corporate functions. The role translates scientific and business needs into technical capabilities and automated solutions. Position is responsible for developing and managing strategic external AI-focused partnerships to advance the companys programs and functions.Position reports to Associate VP of Structural Biology with dotted line reporting into CBDO and CEO.

Omeros is an innovative biotechnology company that discovers develops and commercializes first-in-class small-molecule and protein therapeutics for large-market and orphan indications with particular emphasis on complement-mediated diseases cancers and addictive or compulsive disorders. Omeros lead lectin pathway inhibitor YARTEMLEA which inhibits the pathways effector enzyme MASP-2 is FDA-approved for the treatment of hematopoietic stem cell transplant-associated thrombotic microangiopathy (TA-TMA) in adult and pediatric patients ages two years and older with a inJanuary 2026. Omeros pipeline also includes OMS527 a phosphodiesterase 7 inhibitor in clinical development for cocaine use disorder and fully funded by theNational Institute on Drug Abuse as well as a growing portfolio of novel molecular and cellular oncology programs. What are your job responsibilities
Areas of specific responsibility include the following:
Explores identifies & prioritizes opportunities and solutions for a portfolio of AI/data initiatives across Omeros
Guides the development and implementation of internal objectives operating model governance structure and related success metrics for the deployment and management of AI and related automated tools
Leads AI and automation projects from ideation through execution driving internal adoption and maturation of AI tools in collaboration with IT
Aligns stakeholders across Research IT Regulatory/QA CMC Clinical Commercial and Corporate functions
Guides the translation of biomedical product and business questions into addressable computational and AI approaches
Analyzes and monitors technical and market trends for driving productivity collaboration and business growth through AI and related automated tools
Cultivates and maintains a strong network to build an external innovation pipeline. Identifies evaluates and onboards collaborators to create mutually beneficial partnerships
Supports alliance management cross-functional coordination and/or special initiatives
Represents the company at AI-related industry conferences scientific meetings and partnership discussions to promote Omeros and foster collaboration opportunities
What education and experience do you need
- Advanced degree (PhD MA MBA or equivalent) preferred or significant relevant industry experience and business acumen
- 10 years in life sciences partnership leadership digital transformation program management and/or strategy consulting with measurable outcomes
- Ability to think strategically and analytically with a track record of identifying evaluating and capitalizing on collaborative opportunities
- Design Thinking and innovation skills strongly preferred
- Strong project/portfolio management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and work across cross-functional teams
- Excellent interpersonal networking and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with executives scientists company team members and external stakeholders
- Understanding of the drug development process including early-stage discovery through clinical development/regulatory affairs and commercialization
- Working fluency in AI/ML concepts data foundations and delivery patterns (hands-on experience highly preferred and must be able to steer efforts competently)
- Excellent written/oral communication skills

Compensation and Benefits:
Omeros is proud to offer a competitive total compensation package designed to support the lives of our employees and their families. The wage scale for Director AI Innovation & Partnerships position is$215000-$235000. Salaries will be determined based on knowledge skills education and experience relevant to the role. Employees are offered medical dental vision life insurance and a 401(k) plan with a company match. Employees accrue three weeks of vacation and 80 hours of sick time on an annual basis and receive twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
