Job Description
Essential Job functions:
Assists Physician APP with patient care patient flow intake vital signs procedures and administrative tasks.
Greetspatients/family. Schedule patient appointments and tests in an efficient andtimelymanner.
Answersthe telephone promptly.Takesan accuratemessage when needed anddeliversto theappropriate individual. Demonstrateappropriate etiquette.
Schedules appointments accurately and appropriately according to departmental guidelines Schedules and enters diagnostic tests and procedures into order management system following allappropriate workflows.
Obtains verifies and updates patient information including demographics insurance HIPAAformsand financial waivers.
Preparesthe examination room. Escortspatientinto the room.Cleansexaminationroom when exam is complete.
Ensuresproper preparation for patientvisit.Preparespertinent information needed for patientvisit.
Communicates & provides care consistent with the age cultural spiritual and developmental needs of the patient.
Collectslab specimens according to departmental guidelines. Accurately labels specimens.
Accurately completes any/all necessary forms for the patients.
Obtains vital signs: BPtemp pulse height & weight accurately and completely as. Documents appropriately in EHR.
Works cooperatively with Patient Service Representative (PSR) and other clinical staff to ensuretimelypre-authorizations.
Appropriatelyreviews and reconciles medication list in EHR.
Accurately documents allergies in EHR.
Employsappropriateandtimelyuse of tasking in EHR.
Confirms future appointments as needed.
Communicates with the Office Supervisor / Manager appropriately and promptly.
Consistently and accurately stocks examination rooms with all necessary supplies. Monitors supply inventory completes and directs requisitions for supplies forms equipment or services.
Maintainsproficiencywith department specific equipment troubleshoots andreportsmalfunctions promptly.
Appropriately adheres to universal safety precautions when disposing of medical waste.
Demonstrates flexibility with various work schedules.
Recognizes and performs duties which need to be performed although not directly assigned.
Responsible for scheduling hospital and ambulatory admissions.
Verbalizes procedure for collection of pre-admission testing data. Coordinates required testing prior to admission andensuresall information and consents are on site forpatientsadmission/procedure.
Schedules andentersdiagnostic tests and procedures intoordersmanagement system following allappropriate workflows.
Arranges types and distributes surgeryschedule.
Education Certification Computer and Training Requirements:
High School/GED. Vocational / Technical School / Diploma Program preferred.
Heart Saver certification within90 daysof hire.
0 1yearsexperience. 2-4years experiencepreferred.
Knowledge of medical terminologypreferred.
Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to perform diverse work assignments with time limitations with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to use problem solving criticalthinkingand priority setting skills.
Experience with Standard Office Equipment (Phone Fax Copy Machine Scanner Email/Voice Mail) preferred.
Experience with Standard Office Technology in a Window based environment preferred.
Experience with patient care equipmentpreferred.
Experience with EHR Practice Management System and Departmental/Ancillary Systems preferred.
The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.
