General Summary
Vertex isseekingan experienced and energized consolidationleader with accounting systems and processexpertiseto join our Global Accounting organization.The Associate Director Accounting Systems & Consolidationis responsible foroverseeing the teams performanceofmonthly consolidation taskssupporting various process improvement and optimization initiativesandcollaborating with the IT departmentto enhance and upgrade key accounting systems.Theideal candidate is passionate aboutleveragingtechnology to streamline operations improve efficiency and modernize accounting processes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Overseeteamexecution of the global consolidation process focusing on accuracy andtimelypreparation ofconsolidatedfinancial results
Reviewoverseeand mentorteamsperformancemonthly accounting activities including currency translation adjustmentand intercompany
Collaborate with the IT team tooptimizeand enhance accounting applications such as OracleBlackLine and HFM including participation in testing upgrades and process improvements
Collaborating with Financeon matters of data governancetooptimizehierarchies
Lead initiatives to streamline accounting workflows implement automation and introduce innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency
Oversee the automationof intercompanyaccountingand development of the Intercompany Center of Excellence
Maintain and ensureteamrobustperformance ofFinancial Statement Close Processinternal controls
Work closely with cross-functional teams including Treasury on FX gain/loss (balance sheet hedges) Finance on process improvements Tax on legal entity optimization and other relevant teams
Support special projects and key initiatives aligned with the organizations strategic goals
Mentor and develop a team of accounting professionals fostering a collaborative growth-oriented and high-performance culture
Knowledge and Skills
Strong understanding of accounting principles financial reporting and consolidation processes
Proficiencyin accounting software and ERP systems; experience with Oracle EBS HFM andBlackLineis preferredbut not
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Strong organizational and time management abilities capable of meeting tight deadlines
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred
Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting with a focus on systems and/or consolidations
Provenexpertisein financial consolidations compliance and accounting systems management
Pay Range:
$148000 - $222000Disclosure Statement:
The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors including skills competencies experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
