The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention protection and preparation as well as the care custody and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody healthcare and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Description of Work
This position is located at Granville Correctional Institution which is a multilevel correctional facility housing close custody offenders from ages 19-25 and offenders assigned to maximum control intensive control high security maximum control disciplinary segregation and safekeeping status.This position directs the administrative and business management services in support of the operation of Granville Correctional Institution to include management of all budgets accounts payable procurement and human resources.
Supervision of staff both direct and indirect includes the administrative services department fiscal department human resources clothes house mailroom canteens training IT and the maintenance department.
Position coordinates the preparation and implementation of the facilitys operating budget. Should be knowledgeable of all State administrative policies and procedures pertaining to the operation of a correctional facility.
Position ensures that all areas of supervision comply with the administrative practices of the Department of Adult Correction and applicable State regulations.
