North Star Windows & Doors is excited to welcome new and returning students to join our Production Team for the summer! We are offering fulltime contract positions throughout the summer months providing handson experience in a fastpaced manufacturing environment.

Contract Details

• Contract duration: May August 21
• Starting rate: $22.25/hour (Increase: $22.50/hour after 3 months)
• Hours: 4048 hours per week
• Overtime: Paid after 42 hours
• Vacation pay 4% paid out on each cheque
• Schedule- Straight Days
  • Day Shift: 7:00 AM 3:00 PM
• Overtime & Saturday shifts: May be required based on business needs

Job Description

As a Summer Student Production Associate you will support daily production and manufacturing operations working collaboratively to meet quality safety and performance targets.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Assemble fabricate and inspect windows and doors to meet quality standards and specifications
• Review work orders and prepare materials for production
• Safely operate hand tools power tools saws pneumatic tools welding equipment and automated machinery
• Inspect finished products and report defects or quality concerns
• Prepare products for shipment including packing labeling and loading
• Participate in 5S and continuous improvement initiatives
• Contribute ideas to improve safety quality and efficiency
• Support production goals and team performance targets
• Follow leadership direction and verify quality through measurement
• Adhere strictly to safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Work respectfully and collaboratively as part of a team

What Were Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a college or university program
• Available to work fulltime for the entire contract period
• Reliable punctual and eager to learn
• Comfortable working in a physically active production environment

Qualifications :

• Previous experience in general labour construction or manufacturing is preferred
• Willing to learn with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Able to stand for a full shift
• Comfortable working in a physically active safety sensitive production environment; able to lift and maneuver products (3050 lbs medium to heavy lifting)
• Reliable punctual and eager to learn
• Manual dexterity and comfort handling materials
• Experience using hand tools and power tools
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately
• Safetyconscious and detailoriented
• 18 years of age or older and eligible to work in Canada
• Must be available for twoweek rotating shifts
• Must be available to work overtime and Saturdays when required
