Role description:
Mobility Canada is looking for a Pursuit Cost Controller to join our growing commercial team in the Calgary or Toronto office. The successful candidate will work alongside the Commercial Director in the preparation of Design and Engineering pursuit (RFP/RFQ) submissions and will be responsible for preparing top-down fee estimates and bottom-up fee estimates analysing data by role location company level and effort reviewing and analysing rates and analysing data using Power BI. The role also involves using internal pricing bid books and preparing pursuit committee presentations for leadership approval.
Role accountabilities:
In this role you will be responsible for reviewing and understanding RFPs and RFQs creating work breakdown structures and developing cost breakdown structures to support pursuit opportunities. You will work closely with our Design and Engineering teams globally for each RFP/RFQ submission and you will also liaise with subconsultants to clarify scope splits and rates. Creating detailed estimates of hours required per package or work element will be a key part of your responsibilities.
Additionally you will process and verify invoices in a timely and accurate manner classify costs appropriately and prepare financial reports to support effective project this role you will assist in preparing scopes of work for Project Manager review and maintain comprehensive project records including contracts joint venture agreements subconsultant agreements and change orders. You will also track and maintain a historical cost database of previous pursuits to inform future estimates and decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 2-3 years experience in quantity surveying project management or engineering
- Proficiency with Excel (Formulas & PowerQuerey) and Power BI
- Proven ability to work in a team environment demonstrating excellent communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
