Today Vanguard is one of the worlds largest investment management companies serving more than 50 million investors worldwide. For more than 30 years Vanguard Australia has been supporting individual investors financial advisers and superannuation members to achieve their long-term financial goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the end-to-the-end tax compliance process for Funds Corporate and Fringe Benefit returns and Business Activity Statements.

  • Performs quarterly corporate tax provisions and year-end tax provision.

  • Maintenance of Vanguard tax risk management and governance policies.

  • Partners with Fund Accounting/ Corporate Accounting to streamline and/or develop new processes.

  • Acts as a point of contact for tax-related queries including putting forward a recommendation of resolution to the Tax Manager and taking the lead to resolve internal clients.

  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships across Vanguard and external suppliers to achieve mutually agreeable goals

  • Develops and keeps abreast of legislative and regulatory tax developments to support implementation of applicable changes and tax planning.

Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent of experience and training.

  • Minimum of eight or more years of relevant tax experience

  • CA CTA or CPA qualified.

  • Strong knowledge of Corporate Tax and the Funds Management industry (preferred)

  • Advanced in Microsoft Office.

  • Strong verbal and written communication interpersonal presentation and organizational skills.

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
