Your New Role and Responsibilities

The Service Delivery Lead is responsible for ensuring the Development & Integration (D&I) squads within the Mission System at the Development Centre achieve their business goals. To accomplish this the Service Delivery Lead collaborates with the Customers Capability Manager to create and maintain the delivery roadmap.

The preferred candidate should possess experience in project management and delivery coupled with a demonstrated interest in transitioning to service-operations-based delivery. This individual will contribute to expanding existing capabilities advancing operational delivery maturity and positioning the organisation for scalable growth and successful acquisition of new business through enhanced delivery reliability and improved outcomes.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Oversee blended delivery of ongoing software sustainment and change initiatives managing priorities dependencies schedules and delivery modes to ensure consistent predictable outcomes.
  • Provide top cover to insulate technical teams from business-process overhead (governance admin stakeholder management planning artefacts) enabling engineers to stay focused on technical delivery.
  • Translate business outcomes and roadmap priorities into an achievable delivery sequence partnering with Engineering Leads to balance scope schedule risk quality compliance and delivery feasibility.
  • Own and maintain the integrated delivery plan and release calendar coordinating scope sequencing milestones and dependencies across teams to meet contractual and governance cadence expectations.
  • Lead delivery performance and continuous improvement using fit-for-purpose metrics running retrospectives and removing non-technical impediments to throughput.

  • Demonstrated project management and delivery experience ideally within complex multiteam or regulated environments with accountability for scope schedule dependencies and delivery outcomes.
  • Strong experience operating in deliveryfocused roles across sustainment change or hybrid delivery models with the ability to manage competing priorities and delivery modes effectively.
  • Clear interest and career intent to transition into a serviceoperationsfocused role contributing to the evolution of delivery capability from projectbased execution toward mature repeatable service operations.
  • Proven ability to support organisational growth objectives and strengthening the ability to scale services and win new work through reliable delivery performance.
