Position Summary:

As Senior Medical Science Manager (Sr.MSM)in Franceyoucooperate closely with our field-based teamand other relevant medical colleagues. Youare responsible fordeveloping and enhancing professional relationships with medical thought leaders involved in various phases of product development as well as key medical organizations including treatment centers of excellence and established societies and associationsinFrance.You provide medical information through scientific exchange in afairbalanced manner and provide clinical/scientific support to the company.Your servicesare field-basedandyoupossessestablishedprofessionalpersonal and scientific credibility to interact with thought leaders and centers of excellence. You will support Ultragenyxcommercializedproductsand pipelineinFranceas your primary responsibility.

Work Model:

Field: Officially documented as working as a member of the Ultragenyx field team generally interacting with third parties on behalf of Ultragenyx.

Responsibilities:

1. Scientific Engagement

  • Build andmaintainstrongscientific relationships with KOLsHCPs and diagnostic networks to enhance diseaseawarenessand patient identification.
  • Serve as a trustedmedicalpartner by providing balanced scientific exchangeandsupporting investigator-initiated research.

2. Strategic Insight Generation

  • Capture and communicate emerging clinical and scientific insights to inform internal decision-making and strategy.

3. Therapeutic Area Expertise

  • Apply deep knowledge of rare diseases particularly metabolic and genetic disorders to guide medical engagement and education.
  • Leverage advanced clinical training (MD PhD PharmD) and strong understanding of thehealthcaresystem to provide local thought leadership.
  • Contribute to local Market Access and pricing/reimbursement discussions with scientificexpertise.

4. Scientific Strategy Execution

  • Develop and implement territory plans aligned with regional and national strategies to support Ultragenyxs medicalobjectives.
  • Collaborate withfield-based and global medical affairs colleagues as well as cross-functionallyto drivethesuccessful execution of scientific initiatives.

5. Clinical Development Support

  • Partner withClinical Operationstoidentifytrial sitessupport patient recruitment and foster productive relationshipswith investigators.
  • Act as a key contact for HCPs pursuing investigator-initiated research opportunities.

6. Scientific Communications

  • Deliver high-quality scientific and clinical presentations in diverse healthcare settings and contribute to medical education initiatives.
  • Provideaccuratetimelymedical information and updates.

7. Congress & Advisory Support

  • Represent Ultragenyx at scientific meetings congresses and symposia through presentations discussions and scientific support.
  • Provide expert engagement at advisory boards and contribute to shaping scientific dialogue with external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  1. Advanced degree in clinical specialtyrequired(MD PhD PharmD) andcommensurateexperience
  2. Required:3-5 years ofindustryexperience
  3. Rare disease experienceis preferred particularly in metabolic and genetic disorders
  4. Demonstrated experience effectively presenting clinical/scientific informationrequired
  5. Expertunderstanding of the health care delivery system andits impacton patient pathway inFrance
  6. Highly motivated;demonstratesresilience and flexibility; effective listening skills; excellent communication and presentation skills; works autonomously to organize and prioritize ones own work schedule; proactively and consistently delivers on commitments
  7. Languages: Fluent inFrench andEnglish
  8. Approximately50-60%oftravelisrequired; overnight travelisrequiredas needed
  9. Valid drivers license
