Crofton House School is seeking an experienced learning resource teacher. You will be part of a collaborative teaching team supporting the positive growth and development of young girls in the Junior School. Responsibilities:

Learning Support & Instruction

  • Foster a positive supportive learning culture that celebrates diverse learning profiles

  • Support classroom learning through smallâgroup and individual instruction

  • Interpret psychoâeducational assessments

  • Create implement and review Individual Education Plans and schoolâbased support plans

  • Act as a case manager for individual students and provide personalized instruction and learning support

  • Document evidence of learning to assess growth and guide next steps

  • Integrate meaningful technology into student learning

Collaboration & Team-Based Support

  • Work collaboratively with learning resource teachers to provide integrated support to Junior School students

  • Collaborate with teachers to strengthen their capacity to support students with learning needs

  • Facilitate a teamâbased approach with teachers parents and paraprofessionals

  • Lead gradeâspecific Student of Consideration meetings

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain documentation and records for individual students ensuring confidentiality and alignment with Ministry of Education requirements

School Life & Professional Growth

  • Participate in a dynamic professional development network

  • Participate in coâcurricular activities and clubs

  • Support supervision of students during nonâinstructional time

  • Participate in schoolâwide events

Qualifications Knowledge Experience:

  • B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or Independent School Certification

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent

  • Degree or diploma in Special Education an asset

  • An understanding of the BC Ministry of Education Special Education policies and procedures

  • Previous experience teaching in a learning resource capacity at an elementary level

  • Experience creating and implementing IEPs

  • Understanding of how to support diverse learning styles of girls at an elementary level

  • Collaborative and energetic with a passion for teaching

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative flexible highly organized with attention to detail

  • Energy commitment and readiness to participate in the co-curricular program and the diverse life of the school community

Employment and Application Details:

Classes begin in September 2026 following teacher orientation in late August 2026.

Employees of Crofton House School receive competitive compensation and support for professional educational and leadership development. Compensation: $69541-$123242 depending on experience and education level.
