Your Department
AJCs Regional Offices connect the local communities with AJCs global advocacy work to enhance the well-being of the Jewish people and Israel. We maintain the agencys nationwide presence by attracting leaders and donors to AJC enhancing the organizations influence with key local national and international decision makers and stakeholders implementing advocacy initiatives at the state and local level and establishing and nurturing community relationships.
Your Impact
This position makes an impact at AJC by managing work with moderate but important impact on the organizations mission and goals. Works with regular oversight to solve moderately complex problems and make moderate and significant decisions.
Incumbents manage programs projects initiatives and events that advance AJCs mission and advocacy efforts. Working under direct supervision this position is responsible for planning and executing departmental strategies engaging and communicating with influential stakeholders and building coalitions and partnerships.
Your Role
- Contribute to the development and execution of the departments strategy goals objectives and action plans
- Manage and facilitate advocacy and outreach programs projects initiatives events meetings trainings and/or missions
- Implement new opportunities to expand departmental initiatives beyond existing programs
- May participate and support the work of Boards committees task forces or working groups
- Leverage resources to help build awareness of and support for the AJC and department initiatives
- May assist with development efforts including participation in fundraising initiatives and plans donor outreach providing materials for grant applications and reports and related activities
- Maintain and manage programmatic spending for initiatives they work on
- Research monitor and report on developments issues and trends impacting the department and AJC priorities
- Coordinate attend and/or lead meetings
- Develop relationships with and engage strategic contacts groups and organizations
- Support the building of coalitions partnerships and initiatives with organizations and other external partners to further AJCs mission
- Assist in representing AJC and the department in the community at functions and in other public forums
- Draft edit and disseminate communications resources and materials
Specific to This Role
The Assistant Director will play an important role in advancing AJC New Englands strategic plan. The successful candidate will be a resourceful leader who works will as part of a team but is comfortable taking initiative welcomes a demanding role and exhibits pride and professionalism in his or her work.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee all aspects of the New England regions communications program including advocacy campaigns
- Design develop and distribute newsletters announcements invitations
- Manage social media
- Promote media coverage
- Support programming and events
- Oversee marketing efforts
- Coordinate with development advocacy and constituency building teams to advance their goals
- Participate in and manage advocacy initiatives as needed ranging from intergroup engagement to political and civic advocacy and engagement
- Steward collaborations with other organizations.
- Serve as staff liaison and manager for lay committees.

Education Training and Experience
- Bachelors degree (Masters degree preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience and intermediate job skills and knowledge

Compensation
The salary for this position is $72000 - $82000 depending on relevant experience and location.
