Job Summary
Job Summary:
The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functions of the Colleges residential facilities housing approximately 4000 students with capacity subject to annual enrollment and occupancy variations. This position ensures operational excellence through the coordination of residence hall health and safety protocols facilities management and strategic residential programs. Specific duties include supervision of student staff and direct supervision of the summer operations Area Coordinator coordination of residence hall health and safety checks; monitoring and prioritizing mover and maintenance requests; providing student and family support and serving as a primary contact for facilities concerns; overseeing the room inspection and damage billing process; managing furniture inventory and assessing new initiatives; coordinating special Residential Life events including Commencement and returning senior housing early arrivals late departures all closing and openings break housing and Senior Week.

Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Management

- Serve on departmental or institutional committees and task forces relevant to residential facilities student experience and campus operations.
- Serve as Residential Life representative of the Summer Planning Group.
Residential Operations & Facilities Management
- Oversee and manage the opening and closing of residence halls and apartments ensuring facility readiness and access. Coordinate with Housing Services and external partners (such as Facilities Services) as needed.
- Oversee OnGuard and Traka access and usage for departmental student and professional staff.
- Coordinate Residential Life operations for the Early Arrival Late Departure Senior Week and break period processes. Collaborate with IT on online forms and share information with campus partners.
- Oversee departmental processes for openings closings and breaks including checklists and staff schedules.
- Oversee the administration of health and safety checks including break room checks and annual NYS fire inspections.
- Oversee and administer the academic year room inspection process and damage billing process including charges budgets and conflict resolution.
- Oversee monitor and prioritize mover and maintenance request procedures during the academic year.
- Oversee contractors work quality and completion; attend job meetings and assist with punch lists.
- Assist the Circle Area Coordinator with operations and renovation issues in the Circle Apartments; manage College Circle turnover process.
- Coordinate arrangements for temporary housing.
Supervision & Staff Development
- Provide functional supervision of student Operations Assistants including directing work assignments and monitoring performance.
- Supervise the Area Coordinator assigned to summer operations.
- Plan and present student staff and professional staff training sessions.
Student Support & Communication
- Respond to inquiries problems and complaints from students staff and parents.
- Assist in Residential Life programming and publication efforts for students and parents to increase awareness of on-campus living.
- Design implement and oversee ongoing assessment initiatives to measure student satisfaction with residential facilities.
- Maintain liaison relationships with campus partners and outside vendors (e.g. Facilities IT Environmental Health & Safety Conference Services Boldyn CSC Laundry).
- Maintain and update the operational content of the website to ensure accurate accessible and user-friendly content.
Other Duties
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Work Environment:
Most of the work of the incumbent is carried out within a generally accessible safe indoor environment with frequent interaction with students faculty staff and external partners. The incumbent will be required to respond to emergency situations during normal business hours and attend various College functions and activities. Evening and weekend work required for programming events and crisis response. The incumbent may be required to travel periodically for professional development conferences or institutional representation. Physical demands include ability to walk campus facilities and attend events in various settings.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and a minimum of 3 years of residential life/housing or facilities management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience; excellent organizational interpersonal written and verbal communication skills; ability to cultivate an inclusive diverse and welcoming environment; ability to treat all people equitably and with a sensitivity and awareness to cultural difference; demonstrated ability to hold others accountable for behavior that is supportive of a community that is diverse and inclusive required. A masters degree in higher education or related field preferred.
This position is 37.5 hours per week 52 weeks per year.

Hiring Range:
$28.00 to $30.00 per hour commensurate with qualifications and experience.
