Raytheon has an opportunity for an energetic and motivated Mechanical Engineer within the Airborne Sensor RF Design departmentallowingfor broad exposure to Raytheons technology toolsand resources. This department within the HardwareEngineering organization is seeking support with radio-frequencymechanical packagingdevelopmentand production support for multiple airborne and space this role the engineer willbe requiredtofrequentlycollaborate with engineers of various disciplines to ensure support of program and factory requirements. The ideal candidate should have strong academic credentials and experience in working in a teamwork environment having not only academic but also interpersonal skills to helpoptimizeour teams. Additionally the candidate shouldpossessan inquisitive nature anda strong desireto learn real-world applications to complement their academic experience.

What You Will Do

• Support existing Airborne Radar production programs inmaintaininghigh qualityand on time delivery to our warfighters at our manufacturing facility in McKinney TX.
• Perform root cause investigations and develop quick-turn technical solutions.
• Evaluate and resolve obsolescence issues through analysis validation testing and implementation.
• Engage with suppliersonquality issues and corrective actions.
• Travel periodically to external suppliers and other Raytheon typically does not exceed 10%.
• Follow established procedures and instructions while working closely with leadership and supply chain to ensure that overall designobjectivesare met.
• Perform mechanical design and documentation of electro-mechanical assemblies using PTC Creo Parametric and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
• Work with a multi-disciplined team of engineers on mechanical housing design electronics equipment packaging circuit card assemblies interconnects and thermal management.
• Create and deliver presentations with clear and concise technical content.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a Bachelor of Science degree inScience Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)anda minimumof2 years prior relevant experienceto include any combination of the following:

• Experiencewiththe design manufacturing and integration of mechanical assemblies electronics packagingand/or test equipmentfor military and/oraerospace applications
• Experience withGD&T and ASME drawing standards
• Experience with PTC CREO Parametric or other mechanical CAD design tools
• Experience with creating and delivering presentations

Qualifications We Prefer

• An existing Secret or Top Secret security clearance
• Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design and layout collaborationexperience
• Knowledge of electromechanical assemblies and the interrelationship of the components therein
• Knowledge of materials and fabrication methods
• Knowledge of mechanical fabrication and assembly drawings
• Experience with production support including the use of basic measurement tools
• Knowledge of environmental testing and validation

The salary range for this role is 68900 USD - 131100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
