Bath College is seeking to appoint dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Staff to join our inclusive and learner-focused support team.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are committed to enabling learners with additional needs to access education successfully develop independence and achieve their personal and academic goals. The role is both rewarding and developmental offering the chance to make a meaningful contribution to learners progress participation and longer-term outcomes within a college environment.

As a member of the Learning Support team you will provide high-quality support based on an empowering and enabling model of practice. You will work alongside learners curriculum staff and wider support teams to remove barriers to learning promote independence and help learners participate fully in college life.

A particular feature of this opportunity is the potential to undertake a nationally recognised Level 5 apprenticeship supporting professional development enhancing future career prospects and helping to create progression opportunities into specialist roles and higher salary levels over time. Key Responsibilities


The successful candidate will:

  • provide effective support to learners with additional needs in lessons and across the wider college environment
  • promote learner independence confidence engagement and achievement
  • enable learners to develop strategies and skills that support participation and long-term success
  • work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams to implement appropriate support approaches
  • contribute to a positive inclusive and aspirational learning environment
  • support learner wellbeing and uphold safeguarding responsibilities at all times
  • maintain appropriate records and contribute to reviews of learner progress and support arrangements

Previous experience of supporting young people adults or learners with additional needs would be advantageous although applicants with the right values potential and commitment will also be welcomed.
