Location: This is a full-time on-site position in Lower Manhattan offering the benefit of working closely with an experienced legal team in a collaborative office environment.

Note: Must have 3 years of workers compensation attorney experience and be admitted in New York. This is a workers comp role and not a litigation-side personal injury position.

Job Description

• Handle workers compensation matters on behalf of injured workers from intake through resolution
• Manage files deadlines and case strategy across an active caseload
• Communicate with clients regarding benefits treatment status and next steps
• Prepare and review filings applications and other workers compensation documents
• Appear for hearings conferences and other proceedings before the relevant board or tribunal
• Work with medical records wage information and supporting documentation to advance claims
• Negotiate settlements and help drive matters toward favorable outcomes
• Collaborate with attorneys paralegals and support staff to move cases efficiently and effectively

Qualifications

• 3 years of workers compensation attorney experience
• Admitted to practice in New York
• Strong familiarity with workers compensation claims handling and appearances
• Ability to manage files independently and communicate effectively with clients
• Organized responsive and comfortable in a fast-paced plaintiff-side environment
• Spanish language skills are a plus
