What Youll Do

Youll lead creative data-driven solutions to make streets safer-whether its designing traffic signal pavement marking signage and traffic calming plans diving into traffic and safety studies or supervising/mentoring junior staff. From corridor studies to Safe Routes to School youll use tools like Synchro Highway Capacity Software MicroStation and/or AutoCAD to turn ideas into action. Youll contribute to projects across the region and beyond helping shape safer more sustainable multimodal infrastructure in diverse contexts as part of a collaborative team thats passionate about the work we do and the communities we serve. We are targeting a salary range of $125000 to $140000 for this position. Candidates with more years of experience or exceptional qualifications may fall into a different pay range.

• Licensed PE with 10 years of experience developing traffic engineering design plans operational and safety analyses and/or design documents (signing and pavement marking maintenance of traffic traffic signals)
• 2 years project or design management experience with public agencies a plus (MDOT SHA VDOT DDOT PennDOT)
• Experience developing conceptual designs for intersections and corridors
• Proficient in one or more of the following: MicroStation OpenRoads Synchro Highway Capacity Software MicroStation InRoads AutoCAD SIDRA and/or VISSIM
• Experience developing conceptual designs for intersections and corridors
• Understanding of basic geometric design principles of roadways and industry roadway design standards
• Understanding of MUTCD standards at the state and federal level
• Experience developing construction documents and cost estimates
• An interest in managing and mentoring staff
• Bonus: PTOE Complete Streets bikeway and crossing design construction support services Agi32 lighting design experience supervising staff
• Strong interest in active transportation design and analysis
