Role Overview

The Golf Course Machinery Operator plays a crucial role in maintaining the pristine condition of the course. This position involves operating and managing a range of specialised machinery and equipment to ensure that the golf course meets the highest standards of excellence. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of golf course maintenance a commitment to quality and exceptional technical skills.

The primary purpose of the Golf Course Machinery Operator is to effectively operate and maintain a variety of machinery to uphold the quality of the golf course. This role requires a comprehensive knowledge of golf course maintenance procedures and equipment operations. The scope of this role includes performing routine maintenance troubleshooting equipment issues and collaborating with the groundskeeping team to ensure the course remains in optimal condition for members and guests.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in machinery operation is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating golf course machinery or similar heavy equipment; experience in a luxury or high-end golf environment is advantageous.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining a variety of golf course machinery; strong mechanical aptitude; basic knowledge of turf management practices.
• Technical Expertise - Demonstrates a high level of skill in operating and maintaining golf course machinery. Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.
• Attention to Detail - Meticulous in performing maintenance tasks and ensuring the golf course meets the highest standards.
• Communication Skills - Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members and reporting to supervisors.
• Problem-Solving - Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions promptly.

Responsibilities

Machine Operation and Maintenance:

• Operate a range of machinery including mowers aerators sprayers and other equipment used in the upkeep of the golf course.
• Perform routine maintenance on machinery including cleaning lubricating and inspecting for wear and tear.
• Identify and address minor mechanical issues; escalate major repairs to the Head Mechanic.

Course Maintenance:

• Conduct daily course inspections to identify and address maintenance needs.
• Assist in the preparation and upkeep of tees greens fairways and roughs to ensure the course meets the clubs high standards.
• Apply fertilisers pesticides and herbicides in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with the golf course superintendent and grounds crew to coordinate maintenance tasks and schedules.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to the required standards.

Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery and handling chemicals.
• Maintain accurate records of machinery usage maintenance and any incidents or issues encountered.

Training and Development:

• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry best practices and advancements in machinery technology.
• Assist in training new team members on the proper use and maintenance of equipment
