The Work
ICF Next is seeking a Social Media Planner to support a high-visibility federal client within the national security space focused on large-scale recruitment marketing and employer branding initiatives.This is a fully onsite role within a secure government environment requiring close day-to-day collaboration with client stakeholders. The role supports the planning coordination and execution of social media activities across multiple platforms ensuring alignment with recruitment goals content strategies and employer brand standards.
The planner will work closely with strategists content creators and stakeholders to manage content calendars coordinate approvals and support consistent high-quality publishing across channels. This role requires strong organizational skills attention to detail and experience managing social media workflows in a fast-paced mission-driven environment.
Job Location
Onsite Washington DC (government facility Metro accessible). All work is performedonsitein a secure federal environment. Limited telework may be authorized only aspermittedby the client and contract requirements.
What You Will Do
Plan and manage social media content calendars across platforms (LinkedIn X Facebook Instagram YouTube)
Coordinate development review and approval of social media content with internal teams and client stakeholders
Schedule and publish content in alignment with campaign priorities brand standards and accessibility requirements (Section 508)
Support execution of social media campaigns including organic and paid initiatives
Monitor social media channels for engagement comments and trends and escalate issues as needed
Conduct social listening activities toidentifyaudience insights trends and opportunities
Track content performance and contribute to reporting on key metrics such as reach engagement and growth
Ensure consistency in messaging tone and visual identity across all social platforms
Support real-time and event-based content execution including rapid-turnaround posting needs
Maintain documentation workflows and collaboration tools to support efficient content production and publishing
What You Will Bring With You
Active Top Secret (TS) clearance
Ability to work onsite full-time in Washington DC
U.S. citizenship
Bachelors degree in communications marketing public relations or related field
5 years of professional experience supporting social media planning coordination and execution for organizational or brand accounts
What We Would Like You to Bring With You
Experience supporting federal government or public-sector communications programs
Familiarity with recruitment marketing employer branding or talent acquisition campaigns
Experience using social media management tools (e.g. Sprout Social Hootsuite or similar platforms)
Experience managing content calendars publishing workflows and approval processes
Familiarity with social media analytics and performance reporting

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
