About the job
As a Shop Coordinator at Alfa Laval you will play a central role in coordinating repair and reconditioning activities within our Service Center for our Plated Heat Exchangers (PHE) product lines. Youll support both internal teams and external customers by managing job flow ensuring accurate documentation communicating schedules and updates and helping drive efficiency quality and customer satisfaction.

This is anon-site role based in Houston TX.

As a part of the team you will:

  • Prioritize and coordinate the full flow of repair and reconditioning projects with Team Leaders and Management to improve utilization and throughput.

  • Create complete job packets for all repair projects including drawings quality plans checklists scan sheets and EHS documentation.

  • Perform key tasks in MRP and Lotus Notes systems such as ordering and expediting parts creating purchase orders for outsourced services and scheduling freight when needed.

  • Support the Service Center team in meeting baseline measurements KPIs and operational targets.

  • Coordinate document and follow through on all ACT warranty claims.

  • Participate in ALPS (Alfa Laval Productivity System) activities across Service Centers Manufacturing Sales and Office environments including daily huddles visual management boards Kaizen/continuous improvement activities standard work reviews and problemsolving sessions.

  • Manage job costs by ensuring pricing and expenses remain aligned and support acceptable margins.

  • Provide regular project activity and schedule updates verifying work accuracy and analyzing progress variances and performance metrics.

  • Advise on and support corrective actions to resolve schedule deviations and mitigate risks.

  • Publish schedules task lists and work-center assignments to support smooth execution.

  • Attend and participate in production scheduling kickoff costing and closeout meetings and lead them when required.

  • Join customer conference calls and status meetings communicating project updates and schedule impacts.

  • Ensure all consumables are properly tracked and recovered based on actual usage.

  • Arrange service shipments and coordinate delivery details with customers.

  • Order consumables and manage vendor purchase orders for the Service Center.

  • Maintain accurate documentation by scanning and organizing project information in shared folders.

  • Uphold Alfa Lavals safety standards and proactively promote safe work practices.

  • Demonstrate professionalism courtesy and collaboration with colleagues customers vendors and visitors.

  • Ensure compliance with all Alfa Laval policies procedures and guidelines.

  • Interface effectively with internal and external customers at all organizational levels.

  • Manage multiple concurrent assignments in a fastpaced environment with shifting priorities.

  • Perform additional duties as directed by Management and based on evolving business needs.

What you know:

You have a Bachelors degree in Business Engineering Operations Supply Chain or a related field (or equivalent work experience) and:

  • Minimum of 3 years of planning and scheduling experience in fabrication manufacturing or service environments.

  • Expert-level experience with ERP systems and strong working knowledge of CPM scheduling tools such as Primavera or Microsoft Project.

  • Demand planning experience with the ability to manage forecasting materials flow and scheduling priorities.

  • Experience in project controls such as cost engineering logistics or contracts (preferred).

  • Strong analytical organizational and written/verbal communication skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Power Pivot Power Query VLOOKUP preferred) and familiarity with MS Office; Power BI experience preferred.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings/blueprints and understanding of machining or welding processes (beneficial).

  • Experience applying LEAN methodologies or other processimprovement tools.

  • Ability to manage deadlines prioritize effectively and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated initiative urgency and ownership in managing responsibilities.

  • APICS certification such as: CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) CLTD (Certified in Transformation for Supply Chain) or equivalent preferred but not required.

These considerations can cause your compensation to vary and will also be dependent on your location. The hourly rate for this role is typically $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
