As a DMS Applications Engineer you will contribute to the design development and delivery of advanced software applications that support electric utilities and grid operators in managing increasingly dynamic distribution networks.

In this role you will work on critical power systems functionality across Distribution Management Systems (DMS) SCADA and modeling applications partnering with internal engineering teams and customers to deliver high-quality solutions that improve grid visibility reliability and operational performance. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong and collaborative engineer who is passionate about solving complex challenges in utility software and grid modernization.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design develop test integrate and deliver advanced power systems application software to meet product and project commitments.

  • Work with electric utilities ISOs and transmission/distribution operators to define and support functional software requirements.

  • Implement and maintain functionality across DMS SCADA and modeling applications including DMS/DTS/DERMS solutions.

  • Collaborate with system engineers frontend developers and EMS/DMS application teams to deliver solutions aligned with product direction.

  • Develop functional software design documentation and support adherence to design and development standards.

  • Provide technical input on schedules effort estimates and project planning.

  • Interface with customers to address technical issues and support product proposals and demonstrations.

  • Troubleshoot and support advanced distribution automation applications including power flow fault isolation and service restoration Volt-VAR optimization fault location and feeder reconfiguration.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering Computer Science or related technical field.

  • Minimum3 yearsof experience in software engineering applications engineering or power systems engineering.

  • Minimum2 yearsof experience working with utility software applications such asDMS EMS SCADA DERMS or related systems.

  • Experience supporting or developing at least2 advanced power systems functions such as power flow FLISR Volt-VAR optimization fault location or feeder reconfiguration.

  • Experience with software development lifecycle activities including design coding testing integration and deployment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience withDistribution Management Systems (DMS)and/orEnergy Management Systems (EMS)applications.

  • Familiarity with utility operations distribution automation and transmission/distribution system workflows.

  • Experience writing functional design specifications for power systems software.

  • Knowledge of grid applications such asSCADA DTS DERMS or related operational technologies.

  • Experience supporting customer demonstrations technical proposals or solution presentations.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a Software Center of Excellence or similarly structured engineering environment.

Eligibility Requirements

  • We welcome candidates who are excited about the opportunity to relocate and grow with GE Vernova in one of our key locations: Melbourne FL; Bellevue WA; or Atlanta GA.
  • Willing to work in ahybrid model in office up to3 days per week

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position the pay range for this position is between $81600.00 and $122400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110% 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
