About the role

A new opportunity has come available for an experienced Caretaker to join ARRCS on a permanent full-time basis). This role attracts a salary of $47.38 - $50.99 / hour dependent on previous skills and experience. Your remuneration package also includes furnished housing.

This exciting role will see you responsible for the day-to-day upkeep maintenance and general operations of ARRCS staff accommodation. This hands-on role ensure that all buildings grounds and operational equipment are well maintained through appropriate use regular cleaning and repairs. You will also support ARRCS in ensuring that staff accommodation is compliant and safe.

As the successful candidate you will bring to the organisation a background and knowledge working as a Caretaker or property manager. Your experience will show that you have familiarity in building management including utilities heating and water systems and have basic maintenance skills. You will be comfortable being the point of contact for staff accommodation needs and understand that this will include on call needs and after-hours emergency support. You will have prior experience in the maintenance of compliance documentation and logs and be an approachable staff member who is keen to support our staff.

Skills & experience

To be considered for this role we will be looking at the following experience and qualifications:

  • Experience performing minor building repairs (basic plumbing carpentry painting fixtures etc).
  • Familiarity with management of building utilities including lighting heat and water systems.
  • Prior experience in the management and maintenance of shared living spaces and amenities.
  • Prior experience in management of accommodation and general support with staff residents.
  • Ability to identify and report issues and recording and logging appropriately.
  • Prior experience in maintaining logs incident reports and compliance documentation.
  • Clear professional communication skills with both residents staff management and external contractors.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively identify issues before they arise.
  • Comfortable to work in an aged care environment and interaction with our elderly residents.
