Role description:

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in Transmission Distribution & Battery Storage (TDS) high voltage transformer stations protection and control including intelligent electronic devices (IEDs). This role will involve working on cutting-edge projects that incorporate the latest industry standards and technologies including battery energy storage and T&D planning.

Role accountabilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of Transmission and Distribution systems including grid battery storage focusing on substations and protection and control strategies.
• Oversee the integration of intelligent electronic devices and ensure compliance with the latest industry standards and regulations.
• Develop and manage battery energy storage solutions to enhance grid reliability and performance.
• Provide expert consultation on T&D planning to optimize current and future power infrastructure.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet client needs and project specifications.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
• Liaise with clients stakeholders and regulatory bodies to ensure project success and compliance.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering but prefer 15 years of experience with a focus on T&D systems. Battery Energy Storage is a plus.
• Proven experience with substations protection and control systems BESS and IEDs. Ontario Experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with the latest industry standards and practices including energy storage technologies as well as Canadian provinces regulations.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to lead complex engineering projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience in client-facing roles.
• Professional Engineering () license in Onatrio is preferred; other Provinces is a plus. PMP designation is also welcomed.
