Bookkeeper / Assistant Controller / Accounting Manager
- Educational Background
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field required.
- Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are preferred but not required.
- Minimum 35 years of accounting bookkeeping or financial management experience.
- Experience in a small-to-medium sized business environment preferred.
- Experience in a production manufacturing or printing environment is a plus.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to learn and utilize the companys MIS (Management Information System) used to track production costing and invoicing.
- Ability to learn and interact with the companys CRM platform.
- Familiarity with payroll software and benefits administration tools.
- Strong analytical ability with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly with management and staff.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced production environment.
- Willingness to take initiative and improve processes where appropriate.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with team members.
- Work closely with the current Controller to gain a comprehensive understanding of the companys accounting practices systems and workflows.
- Gradually assume responsibility for day-to-day accounting functions as part of a planned transition.
- Manage accounts receivable and invoicing processes.
- Monitor aging reports and assist with collections where appropriate.
- Process and manage accounts payable and vendor payments.
- Resolve discrepancies in billing or vendor invoices.
- Maintain accurate and current financial records.
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements.
- Maintain general ledger entries and documentation.
- Assist with monthly and year-end closing processes.
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with payroll tax requirements.
- Maintain employee payroll records.
- Assist with administration of employee benefits programs in coordination with the companys HR Manager.
- Stay informed regarding changes in payroll and benefits regulations.
- Assist with preparation of internal financial reports.
- Support budgeting and financial planning processes.
- Provide documentation and support for outside accounting and tax professionals.
- Utilize company accounting and reporting platforms including QuickBooks and Qvinci.
- Utilize internal MIS and CRM systems to ensure alignment between operational and financial data.
- Support ongoing improvement of financial processes through effective use of company systems.
