Position Description: We are looking for an experienced Application Production Support Engineer to serve as the frontline defense for our mission-critical this role you will be responsible for ensuring the stability availability and performance of our production systems. The ideal candidate is a natural problem-solver with a strong technical background and a calm methodical approach to incident resolution. You will investigate and resolve complex technical issues collaborate with development teams and communicate with business stakeholders to minimize service disruptions.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
* Provide timely response and resolution to production incidents and alerts. Triage troubleshoot and escalate issues as needed ensuring minimal business impact.
* Perform deep-dive analysis of recurring issues by investigating logs data and code to identify the underlying root cause and prevent future occurrences.
* Proactively monitor application health and performance using enterprise monitoring tools (e.g. Datadog Splunk Dynatrace). Fine-tune alerts to improve signal and reduce noise.
* Analyze application logs server logs and database performance to diagnose and resolve a wide range of technical problems from application errors to performance degradation.
* Act as a key point of contact during production incidents providing clear and timely communication to business users stakeholders and internal technology teams.
* Participate in and validate production deployments performing post-release health checks to ensure application stability.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Experience: 4 years of experience in an L2/L3 Application Support Production Support or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role.
Troubleshooting Mindset: Proven ability to systematically diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in a high-pressure environment.
Operating Systems: Strong knowledge of server environments (Windows Server and/or Linux).
SQL Proficiency: Solid SQL skills with the ability to write queries to investigate data issues and analyze database performance.
Log Analysis: Experience analyzing application and system logs to pinpoint errors and performance issues.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Resilience: Ability to remain calm and focused during critical production incidents.
Good-to-Have Skills:
Scripting: Experience with a scripting language (e.g. PowerShell Bash Python) for automating tasks and log analysis.
Monitoring Tools: Hands-on experience with modern monitoring and observability platforms like Splunk Datadog Dynatrace New Relic or ELK Stack.
Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and services in Azure or AWS.
Web Server Tech: Knowledge of web servers like IIS Apache or Nginx.
CI/CD & DevOps: Understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (e.g. Azure DevOps Jenkins).
ITIL Framework: Knowledge of ITIL principles for incident problem and change management.
