About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for aregular full-timeDonor Centre Manager to join our dynamicCollections Operations East team in Sudbury ON.
The Donor Centre Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operation of their designated donor centre ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. This role focuses on delivering exceptional donor experience meeting operational and financial targets and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the team.
This role provides leadership and direction in the delivery of day-to-day operations ensuring smooth functioning and alignment with organizational objectives
Formula for success
- Leveraging your operational management skills oversee all aspects of donor centre(s) operations including but not limited to ensuring regulatory compliance efficient workflows managing staff productivity quality and safety while continuously seeking improvements.
- Utilizing your resource management skillsensure adequate staffing supplies and equipment to meet collection goals manage staff (recruiting mentoring and development) handle budget planning and oversight and collaborate with other teams on scheduling for maximum efficiency.
- Drawing from your customer service experienceimprovethe donation experience to build donor loyalty. This involves tracking key metrics (donation time satisfaction feedback deferrals) and implementing improvements ensuring timely donor communication and fostering a culture of excellent donor care.
- Usingyour strong leadership skillscreate a positive and inclusive work environment that fosters open communication respect and teamwork. Motivate and support staff development communicate regularly with teams and leadership coach and mentor direct reports and collaborate with other managers to develop annual collection plans.
- You will liaise with the Quality Assurance department to promote and implement a continuous quality improvement cycle. This includes overseeing non-conformance management root cause analysis corrective actions and participation in audits including development ofimprovement plans and communicationwith the team.
Desired education and skills
- Completion of a university degree in a relevant health care or business-related discipline.
- Minimum five (5)years of recent experience in related supervisory/management/leadership role.
- Demonstrated expertise in customer service and operational management.
- Strong leadership communication and team building skills.
- Proven analytical and decision making skills.
- Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and variance analysis.
- Experience working in a unionized andregulated environment considered an asset.
- Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset for this role.
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.

What you can expect
- Schedule: Monday to Friday with occasional evenings and weekends.
- Primarily an on-site role based at Canadian Blood Services donor centre located at 900 Lasalle Blvd Sudbury Ontario.
- Occassional travel may be required to attend in-person regional and national meetings.
- Occasional exposure to biohazards requiring adherence to safety protocols.
- Frequent use of communication devices and occasional on-call responsibilities.
