R&D unit in KTI is responsible for developing digital services at KONE. Its the development engine for our Digital Services such as KONE 24/7 Connected Services Office Flow and Partnership Ecosystem.

KONE services maintains millions of elevators escalators building doors and turnstiles equipment in over 60 countries. Maintenance operations has tens of thousands visits per day facing customers and ensuring fluent products operations.

R&D specialist Maintenance

Join Maintenance Development in the KONE Technology R&D Field Engineering team in CRD China work for KTI products and sub-system tribes in parallel cooperate with CDT(China Digital Technology) on digital solution development and deployment. As the sub-team in domain closely work with field engineering team in Finland Italy Indea and US.

You will join the Onsite and Field Maintenance team contributing to significant advancements in how KONE maintains and services equipment by leveraging the latest innovations in Predictive and Remote this position your work will directly influence KONEs global service operations. KONE delivers maintenance services for both its own manufactured equipment and equipment produced by other companies.

Work will require knowledge for digitalization remote monitoring & diagnostics different types of sensors maintenance strategy development and reliability analyses. You will work together with several KTI teams Global Business Unit Area and Country organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

Method development and validation for preventive maintenance and repairs including materials and time studies

Conduct field data analysis to define optimal replacement intervals for elevator/escalator components during the life cycle

Simulate and assess how service plans impact equipment reliability and availability over the life time.

Contribute to the development of digital maintenance strategies including diagnostics sensor integration and remote failure mode detection

Act as a subject matter expert in service development projects in collaboration with other KTI teams Business Area and Frontlines

To be successful in this role the preferred candidate will have

MSc or BSc degree in a relevant field

Interest and experience in data-driven maintenance optimization and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) process

Familiar with design for maintainability principles as well as preventive and predictive maintenance strategies

Experience with RAM (Reliability-Availability-Maintainability) simulations and related tools like ReliaSoft BlockSim RCM Matlab or any other system simulation environments

Solid understanding of reliability engineering condition monitoring technologies and sensor applications (considered a strong asset)

Experience with Agile methodologies and related tools (considered a plus)

Knowledge of elevator and escalator systems (considered beneficial)

A proactive hands-on attitude with a strong service mindset

Excellent communication skills in English
