Description

The GEC Technology Coordinator (TC) is responsible for all technology aspects at a Global Education Center as well as promoting the mission of BYU-Pathway Worldwide to develop disciples of Jesus Christ who are leaders in their homes the Church and their communities. Reporting to the GEC Manager the TC provides daily support to students and staff manages technology design and operations and partners with Area Information Communication Systems (ICS) and the BYU-Pathway Technology Operations teams. Additionally the TC manages the Tech Lab and directs related learning needs there with the Ensign College faculty lead.



Responsibilities

Manage Global Education Center Technology
Develop and manage the technology design and operating model for the Global Education Center.
Partner with local Area ICS team to ensure smooth technology implementation and operations of the center.
Lead operational IT matters and projects by working with ICS which may include IT audits security and privacy issues.
Work with the GEC Manager and GEC Career Development Manager to ensure the center is providing the necessary technical support to students who have remote jobs and to students seeking to complete assignments.
Develop and communicate goals metrics processes and dashboards to drive operational improvements.
Deliver on other technology operations work and projects as assigned.


Tech Lab
Assist students to grow spiritually and draw closer to Jesus Christ.
Assist Tech Lab students in understanding principles necessary to complete their assignments and be successful.
Coordinate the day-to-day maintenance improvement development of the Tech Lab.
Review assigned curriculum each block to ensure correct setup and ongoing quality.
Evaluate each technical certificate and all learning activities and deliver feedback to course councils if changes are needed.
Work with Career Managers to help Tech Lab students find employment especially upon completion of the program.


Manage Personnel
Oversee the finding and hiring of technical student contractors
Supervise the work of technical student contractors.
Provide direction counsel and ongoing mentoring to technical student contractors.



Qualifications

Education: This will require a bachelors degree or equivalent prior experience in a relevant computer-related field and significant business and/or CES experience.


Experience:Prefer candidates with a proven track record of working with students in higher education including creating and implementing new initiatives or programs. Candidates should also have experience running a computer center or as a network administrator. They will also possess a professional demeanor to represent the university in a manner that builds positive relations and image with professionals throughout the country.


Skills:Must have computer networking and technical skills excellent time management skills public speaking skills problem-solving skills and both verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in word processing and presentation software. Knowledgeable about learning management systems instructional design and e-learning platforms. Ability to handle multiple assignments and assess and analyze data. Knowledge about traditional and modern training methods and techniques. Exceptional organization skills leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with a team and have attention to detail.
