The role
The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for managing and growing IPL Schoellers Large Format Packaging business across major U.S. Consumer Products companies. This role owns strategic account relationships delivers profitable growth and ensures a best-in-class customer experience through strong account management cross-functional collaboration and execution excellence.
The ideal candidate brings experience supporting large CPG or packaging customers strong commercial fundamentals and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing-driven environment.
This role is eligible for our sales incentive plan
Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Customer Engagement
Serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned accounts providing proactive high-touch service.
Build and maintain relationships with procurement packaging and supply chain stakeholders.
Lead customer-facing activities including business reviews pricing discussions and product line or development reviews.
Monitor customer scorecards OTIF performance and compliance requirements; drive internal service improvements.
Sales Strategy & Execution
Develop and execute annual strategic account plans aligned with IPL Schoellers Large Format Packaging strategy.
Identify and secure growth opportunities across existing and new accounts including customer conversions.
Manage forecasts demand trends and sales pipelines in partnership with Sales Operations Customer Service and Supply Chain.
Support pricing strategy through quote preparation margin analysis and execution of approved pricing actions.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Collaborate with Operations Engineering Supply Chain Finance and Customer Service to ensure customer requirements are met.
Coordinate cross-functional efforts for new product introductions engineering changes and packaging updates.
Partner with the Senior Sales Director on forecasting budgeting and executive reporting.
Data Analytics & Process Improvement
Utilize ERP and CRM systems to manage opportunities quotes and performance reporting.
Track customer KPIs market trends and competitive activity to inform strategic recommendations.
Lead issue resolution and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on customer experience data accuracy and profitability.
Qualifications
5 years of experience in account management sales or commercial roles supporting large CPG customers.
Experience in manufacturing packaging consumer durables or other product-based industries preferred.
Strong analytical skills with experience evaluating sales trends pricing and margins.
Proven ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication presentation and relationship-building skills.
Proficiency with ERP and CRM systems (IFS experience a plus).
Willingness to travel up to 50% across North America.
