The Department

  • You will join a forward-thinking Business and Economics team that treats the classroom as a boardroom emphasizing real-world case studies over abstract theory.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Curriculum Delivery: Teaching Business Studies across Key Stage 4 (GCSE/BTEC) and Key Stage 5 (A-Level/Level 3 Vocational) with a focus on core specifications such as AQA Edexcel or OCR.

  2. Enterprise & Strategy: Leading students through the complexities of business ownership from the legalities of startups to the strategic management of multinational corporations.

  3. Financial Literacy: Training students to master essential accounting skills including cash flow forecasting break-even analysis and the interpretation of profit and loss accounts.

  4. Marketing & Operations: Guiding students in the development of marketing mixes (the 4Ps/7Ps) and understanding how efficient operations management drives competitive advantage.

  5. Applied Entrepreneurship: Coordinating enterprise challenges and Dragons Den style competitions to foster a culture of innovation and resilience.


The Successful Candidate We are looking for a teacher who can bridge the gap between a textbook and the Financial Times. Requirements include:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Business Economics Management or a closely related field.

  • Commercial Awareness: A deep understanding of current economic trends and the ability to relate classroom topics to contemporary business news.

  • Pedagogical Range: The ability to teach both the academic rigor of A-Level Business and the practical portfolio-based requirements of BTEC/Vocational pathways.

  • Analytical Skills: A teacher who can help students move beyond description to high-level evaluation and the justification of strategic business decisions.
