This position demands strong collaboration skills especially when facilitating detailed discussions involving data and technical matters.
Additionally the candidate should exhibit proficiency in producing high-quality documentation and communications with meticulous attention to detail and a strong interest in data and sophisticated technical solutions.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Representing the team as a GCM Functional and Data SME and continuously building knowledge around all GCM application components.
- Working with Business and Technical Stakeholders to understand the current and to-be Technology and Data landscape and undertake functional / technical gap analysis data analysis identifying opportunities to improve the Business / System Processes Technology and Business Landscape.
- Working with Business and Technical Stakeholders to execute functional / technical analysis to elicit define analyse document communicate validate trace and manage Data and Technology service functional and non functional requirements and data / business rules through the Project Delivery lifecycle.
- Facilitating Functional Data and Solution Definition workshops.
- Analysing complex Data patterns emanating from various Technology sources and applications.
- Defining and documenting Data rules and requirements through elicitation from GCM Team members and business/Project stakeholders.
- Gathering analysing manipulating merging translating and defining Data from source to destination systems and documenting such Data flows in a suitable format for developers testers Projects and business stakeholders to consume review and approve.
- A major focus on Data mapping and Data definition from consumer system middleware to source system components (GCM application components) as well as Systems Integration Projects.
- Ensuring the agreed and documented requirements and design are correctly defined and aligned to support the business requirements business problem and business need.
- Reviewing and providing feedback on technical documentation such as solution designs technical specifications test cases and scripts implementation plans etc.
- Supporting testing and implementation activities to ensure the successful delivery of the overall business and Technology solutions.
- Providing recommendations for data re-design process re-design system improvements and usage.
- Participate in all Agile Team Ceremonies as and when required such as Stand-Ups Sprint Planning Sprint Retrospectives and Backlog Grooming Sessions.
- Adherence to Group and internal Team governance methodologies frameworks and processes to manage and mitigate risk.
We envisage this role to be part of our long-term core Team hence we are interested in individuals who would like a longer-term role in our Team (minimum 24 months) to build their knowledge around GCM and who would be willing to invest their time in doing so. We would also like the individual to be able and willing to participate in the ongoing Transformation and Engagement Improvement Initiatives in our domain as we build the Lines of Business capability within the Team.
What do I need
Essential:
- At least 5 years of experience in IT Business Analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in Data Analysis (e.g. SQL proficiency Data Mapping Data Profiling) within an IT Business Analysis capacity.
- Demonstrable experience in complex Systems Integration Projects preferably API experience AND experience in Data Migration projects.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business / Information Technology or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge and practical experience in Business Analysis Data Analysis and Project Management (Desirable) disciplines processes best practices tools and techniques.
- Process analysis mapping and re-engineering experience.
- Waterfall principles and best practices and how to write robust functional and non functional specifications.
- Agile principles and best practices and how to write robust and complete user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Senior-level experience in Functional Data Technology Service Specification Writing no / minimal supervision required.
- Practical Experience in delivering end-to-end Agile and Waterfall Projects including exposure to all related delivery processes principles best practices tools and techniques.
- A strong understanding of and experience in Technology and Business Systems strategically and operationally.
- At least 2 to 3 years Financial Services Experience.
Desirable:
- Demonstrable Data Analytics Knowledge and Practical Experience such as Data Analysis Data Profiling Data Mapping Data Modelling Reporting / Data Visualisation Transforming Complex Data Sets into Clear Business Solutions and Outcomes Translating Technical Data into valuable insights to help drive Business/Technical decisions to Enable Business Improvement. Hands-on experience with SQL ETL processes data mining data extraction data collation data transformation data migration.
- A strong understanding of and experience in Westpac Methodologies and Processes: Waterfall (SELC) & Agile (AEF) delivery methods (GDPF) processes.
- Having prior experience or familiarity with Westpac Technology applications and methodologies or processes will be highly regarded.
