BTA Laboratory Technician (mfd) Microbiology & Bacteriophages
Job Summary
Phagestack is a biotech startup developing a platform for machine-learningenabled precision antimicrobials based on bacteriophages. Our work sits at the intersection of microbiology data science and real-world impact. With newly secured public funding we are building our own lab operations in the Cologne area. You can be part of it from day one.
Tasks
- Run hands-on microbiology lab work: cultivation of bacterial strains (BSL-1 / BSL-2) plating titration growth curves and sterile techniques
- Isolate amplify and characterize bacteriophages as part of funded R&D projects
- Apply basic molecular biology methods such as DNA extraction and PCR
- Prepare samples and document results in a structured GxP-like manner
- Help build and organize a new biotech lab from consumables to workflows while ensuring biosafety and quality standards
Requirements
- Trained as a BTA CTA Biologielaborant:in or similar with hands-on experience in microbiology or molecular biology labs
- Experienced working sterile and independently with a structured and reliable mindset
- Motivated to work in a small fast-moving startup where your work really matters
- Fluent in German or English (working proficiency)
