Job Summary:The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the PhD or other doctoral degree under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee.

Additional Department Summary:The Computer Science Department at The University of Alabama seeks candidates for a Postdoctoral Fellow position. This role is open to individuals with research interests in optimization evolutionary computation and machine learning.

Initial appointments are for one year.

Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or terminal degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.

Skills and Knowledge:Strong collaboration skills. Strong analytical and computational skills including but not limited to an in-depth knowledge and extensive experience of python programming deep neural network analysis and large language models. Ability to work independently and generate innovative out-of-the-box research ideas. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:Nine (9) months of active postdoctoral research experience. Record of academic achievement through publications and scholarly contributions. Publication record in optimization evolutionary computation and machine learning. Experience with multi-objective optimization and multi-criteria decision-making. Experience with data visualization.
