The IT Hardware Engineer is responsible for installing maintaining and troubleshooting computer hardware peripherals and network devices. The role ensures smooth functioning of IT infrastructure provides technical support to users and helps maintain system reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Install configure and maintain desktops laptops printers and other IT hardware
Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues and perform repairs or replacements
Set up and maintain network devices such as routers switches and cabling
Provide technical support to end-users for hardware-related issues
Manage hardware inventory asset tracking and documentation
Install and update operating systems and basic software
Coordinate with vendors for procurement warranty and repairs
Perform regular system maintenance and upgrades
Ensure data backup and basic security compliance
Support IT infrastructure projects and office setups
Required Qualifications
Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in IT Computer Science or related field
1–4 years of experience in IT hardware or desktop support (freshers can be considered for junior roles)
Basic knowledge of networking concepts (LAN WAN TCP/IP)
Familiarity with Windows OS installation and troubleshooting
Skills & Competencies
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Good knowledge of computer hardware components
Basic networking and cabling skills
Communication skills for user support
Ability to work independently and in a team
Time management and multitasking ability
Working Conditions
Office or on-site environment May require travel between locations (if multiple offices) Occasional after-hours support for critical issues.
