Summary of Job:

The Security Guard is responsible for the security of Altasciences buildings. They will monitor both buildings via our security camera system perform rounds onsite manage contractor and visitor arrivals/departures.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Monitors equipment systems for possible alarms and failures.
• Dispatches and receives external service providers for critical systems & equipment failures and repairs.
• Patrol premises to ensure they are secure. May need to navigate ladders for rooftop access depending on site.
• Monitor security camera system for all buildings to spot or prevent thefts or other unlawful activity.
• Ensure all safety measures are in place to protect the establishment equipment and personnel.
• Monitors the parking gates in the evening hours.
• Manage contractor and visitor process including check-in host notification and check-out.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of related experience

Supervisory Experience:

Certificates/Licenses /Registrations:

Valid BSP security officer permit may be required depending on location

Technical Skills:

MS Outlook and Teams. Use of Facility Security Software

Language(s) Skills:

Ability to read and interpret technical documents and industry specific manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Bilingual proficiency in French may be required depending on location

Other Requirements:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Well developed interpersonal skills are required.
• Personal/professional integrity and proven discretion in handling confidential information.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and against time constraints.
• Capable of managing multiple conflicting priorities.

• Relevant industry experience a plus.
