Job Purpose
- To work as part of the Port Health team in delivering and discharging the statutory functions duties and policies of the Port Health Service ensuring public health protection and compliance with relevant legislation.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
- Undertake duties associated with the statutory functions of the Port Health Service contributing to sustainable development in all activities.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of relevant legislation and provide technical advice guidance and support to officers within the Port Health Service.
- Undertake official controls at the Border Control Post including administration of official documentation and liaison with customers regarding arriving products.
- Investigate complaints and enquiries and take appropriate enforcement action in line with Port Health responsibilities.
Essential Experience Required
- Working under pressure and meeting changing deadlines
- Ability to work independently and take decisive action
Essential Qualifications Required
- Degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Health
- Registration with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board (or equivalent)
Additional information to note
- Working Hours: 35 hours per week.
- Georges Pierhead City Centre Liverpool Merseyside L3 1DD United Kingdom
- Work pattern - No typical pattern as it is based on service demands
- We work on bi-weekly schedule.
The role closes on 7th May 2026 apply ASAP.
