Job Summary
Overall Purpose and Objective of Position
This position conducts credit analysis and due diligence reviews makes decisions regarding credit limits and credit grading develops and implements risk prevention strategies and maintains and updates risk information systems and credit data in support of the North American business units. The Credit Analyst will be required to exhibit initiative with regard to decision making within a delegated credit authority.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Researches data from various sources to ensure accuracy of analysis including ordering credit reports and analyzing financial data credit metrics credit strengths/weaknesses and other information to support decision making and/or recommendations for credit approval while working within delegated credit authority.
- Conducts due diligence analysis to assist in determining transactional credit risk and whether to extend credit or require secured terms
- Manage daily order releases and exposure levels across business lines
Additional Responsibilities
- Administers the implementation of and compliance with credit policies and procedures using approved methodology; communicates with traders and controllers to resolve conflicts.
- Maintains and updates credit reports and systems.
- Reviews credit risk exposure and follows up on trading/customer credit limit excesses recommends and implements strategies to reduce exposures if necessary to ensure compliance with global credit policy.

Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses
The following is the basic qualification:
- Bachelors Degree with a focus on quantitative subjects
Experience
The following is the basic qualification:
- 2 5 (plus) years of experience within physical commodity trading banking or financial analysis
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)
The following are the basic qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability of prioritize multiple tasks and meet strict daily deadlines independently
- Proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint
The following are the preferred qualifications:
- Fluent Spanish speaker
- Knowledge of international trade finance practices and international banking procedures
- Ability to analyze financial statements and assess transactional or corporate risk
- Ability to make decisions to establish credit limits for customers and recommend financing options and alternatives
- Knowledge of available credit tools (D&B Moodys S&P) to properly evaluate credit
- Ability to manage problem/past-due accounts with trading and sales teams including determining appropriate collections actions
- Knowledge/experience with soft commodities products

Working Conditions
Typical climate-controlled office environment.
Extensions of regular working hours are occasionally necessary to complete time-sensitive projects attend training or to respond to emergencies
Domestic and/or international travel might be required
Decision Making/Accountability
Establishes payment terms and credit grades. Conducts financial analysis from high volumes of data to formulate recommendations regarding financial decisions that will determine the level of risk exposure the Company will take on a particular counterparty. Inaccurate information may result in the decision to take excessive risks when extending credit to customers.
