Job Summary

Newman University is seeking a student-centered collaborative and innovative Director of Navigator to lead a comprehensive student success program while serving as a faculty member within the School of Arts and Sciences. This role plays a key part in supporting student achievement leadership development and retention through teaching and program leadership.

The Director of Navigator oversees the implementation and continuous improvement of the Navigator Program which provides structured support to help students succeed academically and grow as leaders. This position also integrates Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) into Navigator courses to strengthen student learning outcomes.

What Youll Do

  • Lead and manage the Navigator program including implementation assessment and continuous improvement
  • Teach Navigator and other Arts and Humanities courses
  • Collaborate with campus partners to support student success engagement and retention
  • Develop and train faculty in partnership with WAC and Teaching and Learning
  • Coordinate program operations including scheduling Canvas and student e-portfolios
  • Partner with Alumni Relations to connect students with mentors
  • Support Admissions efforts to promote the Navigator program
  • Monitor outcomes and use data to enhance program effectiveness
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What Were Looking For

  • Masters degree required; terminal degree in Arts and Humanities or related field preferred
  • Experience in student success initiatives advising leadership development or higher education programs
  • Strong organizational leadership and program management skills
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and build meaningful relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
