We are seeking a talented individual to join the Captive Operations Group atMarsh.This role is based in Halifax Nova Scotia; it is a hybrid role with the requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

As an Account Administrator II you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of captive insurance companies and their day-to-day operations including financial reporting treasury insurance as well as corporate and regulatory functions.

We will count on you to:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements including supplemental schedules required by clients.

  • Reconcile cash and investment accounts and process payments as needed.

  • Complete and file regulatory and tax documents quarterly and annually.

  • Coordinate client audits from planning to final issuance often managing multiple clients simultaneously.

  • Plan and organize client meetings including Shareholders and Annual General Meetings; produce materials and participate as needed.

  • Proactively assist clients with day-to-day activities and maintain client files and correspondence to identify opportunities and issues.

  • Develop and maintain client relationships correspond with other service providers and resolve client issues.

  • Coach and mentor junior colleagues comply with internal controls help develop standardized procedures understand insurance and accounting and perform other assigned duties.

What you need to have:

  • Qualified CPA or equivalent with a minimum of 1 year of experience focused on preparing financial statements and supporting working papers.

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Business Administration or equivalent.

  • Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize.

  • Outstanding communication and teambuilding skills with the confidence to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization both internally and externally.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft OfficeExcel Word and Outlookis required.

What makes you stand out:

  • 3 years of experience working with or within an insurance company or relevant experience in the captive industry.

  • Understanding of Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Accounting Standards as related to insurance companies.

  • Familiarity with US regulatory requirements for insurance companies.
