Job Title: Ophthalmic Technician MS Doctors Location: New York NY Shift: Day Shift (08:00 AM 04:00 PM) Schedule: 5x8 hours 5 days per week
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician to support physicians in an eye care setting. This role involves performing diagnostic tests assisting with patient care and maintaining ophthalmic equipment to ensure efficient and high-quality clinical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care & Testing:
Perform vision screenings and diagnostic tests (visual field ocular motility color vision)
Conduct tonometry and pupil assessments
Prepare patients for exams and assist physicians during procedures
Patient Flow & Coordination:
Manage and direct patient flow within the clinic
Collect and document patient information
Coordinate imaging lab tests and related services
Educate patients on procedures and care
Equipment & Clinical Support:
Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic instruments
Ensure exam rooms are clean stocked and ready
Monitor equipment functionality and safety
Surgical Assistance:
Prepare and sterilize instruments
Assist with minor procedures and treatments as needed
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ophthalmic Technician Certification (required)
Strong communication and organizational skills
Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
