Position Overview
Reporting to senior HR leadership this role serves as a key resource for day-to-day HR operations. The Human Resources Generalist will provide full-cycle recruiting support administer benefits and leave programs assist with employee relations and ensure compliance with employment laws. This is a highly collaborative detail-oriented role requiring discretion adaptability and strong customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and company information
- Support full-cycle recruiting including sourcing screening interviewing and onboarding
- Partner with hiring managers and external recruiting resources to meet hiring needs
- Coordinate onboarding processes including new hire orientation and documentation
- Administer employee benefits and leave programs including FMLA
- Maintain accurate employee records within HRIS systems
- Assist with compliance related to federal state and local employment laws (FMLA FLSA ACA ADA DOT etc.)
- Support employee relations by assisting with conflict resolution documentation and issue tracking
- Contribute to performance management and employee engagement initiatives
- Respond to routine HR inquiries and provide guidance on policies and procedures
- Conduct stay and exit interviews to support retention strategies
- Ensure accuracy of benefit-related invoices and resolve discrepancies
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance HR service delivery
- Support workplace safety initiatives in partnership with internal teams
- Provide administrative support and backup to HR leadership and team members as needed
Education & Knowledge
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business or related field
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (BambooHR preferred)
- HR certification (PHR/SPHR) preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
- 3 years of HR experience required
- Experience in high-volume or fast-paced environments preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities
- Customer-focused mindset with a collaborative approach
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion
- Office environment with occasional interaction in production/shop areas
- May require standing walking and lifting up to 25 lbs.
