An academy secondary school in Walsall is looking to appoint a committed Design Technology Teacher to join its established Technology department from September. This is a role suited to a teacher who enjoys practical teaching and supporting students as they develop creative and technical skills through hands-on learning.

Design Technology plays an important role within the curriculum with students encouraged to think independently plan effectively and produce high-quality practical outcomes.


What Youll Be Teaching

This role will involve delivering Design Technology lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 supporting students as they work through structured design projects. Depending on your background your teaching may focus on areas such as resistant materials product design or graphics.

You will guide students through each stage of the design process from researching ideas and creating plans through to manufacturing and evaluating finished products. Maintaining safe workshop practices and ensuring equipment is used correctly will be an important responsibility.

Lessons are expected to balance creativity with technical accuracy helping students build both confidence and practical competence.


Your Contribution to the Department

The Technology department values teamwork and resource sharing allowing teachers to collaborate on project ideas and lesson planning. You will be expected to contribute to departmental development and maintain consistent teaching standards.
