Job Summary

The Opportunity

Warwick is a town synonymous with educational excellence from its historic independent schools to its highly-regarded state academies. We are seeking a precise communicative and highly organized Admissions Officer to join a thriving school this role you will be the first point of contact for prospective families acting as a professional ambassador for the school and ensuring the transition into our community is seamless welcoming and legally compliant.


The Role & Department

  • You will work at the heart of the schools administrative hub reporting directly to the School Business Manager or the Head of Admissions.

  • The role is a unique blend of high-level administration data management and public relations.

  • You will manage the entire pupil lifecyclefrom the initial inquiry and school tour to the final enrolment and induction.

  • You will act as the primary liaison between the school and the Warwickshire County Council Admissions Service ensuring all local authority protocols are met.


Core Responsibilities

  1. Inquiry Management: Responding to all telephone and email inquiries regarding school places providing clear information on the schools ethos curriculum and admissions criteria.

  2. Data Coordination: Maintaining the schools Management Information System (MIS) such as SIMS Arbor or Bromcom ensuring all pupil data is accurate up-to-date and GDPR compliant.

  3. Appeals & Compliance: Coordinating the schools appeals process and ensuring that all admissions are carried out in strict accordance with the School Admissions Code and local authority guidelines.

  4. Events & Tours: Organizing and leading school tours and open evenings providing prospective parents and students with an engaging and informative experience.

  5. Reporting: Producing regular reports for the Senior Leadership Team and Governors regarding enrolment trends waiting lists and projected numbers for future academic years.


The Successful Candidate We are looking for a professional who can balance meticulous attention to detail with a warm empathetic manner. Requirements include:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a school admissions role or a high-level administrative/customer-facing position is essential.

  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex admissions processes to parents clearly and calmly.

  • Tech Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and experience with school-specific databases (MIS).

  • Organisation: The ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously particularly during the high-pressure periods of the academic transition cycle.
