Please read below for additional details and let us know if you have the skills and experience we are looking for by submitting your the Position:Reporting to the Assistant Controller and accepting direction from the Controller the Senior Accountant is responsible for complex accounting such as: financial statement preparation compliance preparation and detailed analysis and recommendations. The Senior Accountant will work closely with all members of the Finance team as part of the month end quarter end and year end close process as well as special project support such as the annual budget and audits. The Senior Accountant may engage with other departments and external parties as required to ensure that financial statements and reports are prepared correctly. Some specific duties:Accounting:Works with the finance team to ensure timely and accurate annual quarterly monthly and ad hoc financial reporting and compliance and supports the key performance indicators for the finance Asset record maintenance and input towards the with annual budgeting and planning with guidance from various levels of management and Board of complex accounting journals analyses and reconciliations for junior team with various external compliance on strategic financial projects as complex accounting functions such as: analyses reporting and financial statement internal working papers or analysis to support the annual audit budget or special projects as & Initiative:Contributes to a culture of innovation teamwork agility and idea demonstrating behaviours that support diversity equity and inclusion and workplace health safety and wellness within the finance team and on any cross-functional working exceptional standards of ethics professionalism and five star internal and external customer service data technology and automation to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of the finance contributor to the financial statement and report makes recommendations on changes to or additions in internal controls finance policies and process other duties as you need to have:A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required plus a minimum of 5 to 8 years experience in accounting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to the employer. Relevant experience includes but is not limited to the following:Understanding of restricted fund accounting and CRA reporting requirements for understanding of financial risk management and experience identifying documenting and mitigating financial to research and interpret the CICA navigating financial software and MS Excel including pivot tables and creating visual dashboardsPassion for technology automation and improving processes within the finance intelligent and creative thinker with a passion for continuous -starter who enjoys proactively generating evaluating and implementing new ideas and does independent research and analysis before making attention to detail and analytical skills.
