Who are we
Wintringham is a specialist not-for-profit organisation providing an extensive range of aged care housing and related support services to men and women aged 50-plus who have been homeless or at risk of homelessness. We employ over 1000 staff and operate from multiple offices across Melbourne and regional Victoria. Our Head Office provides the strategic direction and support services for Wintringhams residential housing and community care services.
Your new role
An exciting opportunity exists for a committed and proactive individual to join our Finance Team at our Head Office as the Full Time Management Accountant. Reporting to the Finance Reporting Manager in this dynamic and multifaceted role you will be responsible for the preparation and communication of information to Program Managers for various finance functions including but not limited to preparing internal and external reporting and preparation of the companys budget.
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Contribute to the preparation of the companys annual budget
- Contribute to the preparation of annual statutory reporting
- Contribute to the preparation of year end and periodic compliance reporting
- Periodic and ad-hoc reporting of financial and non-financial information to the Executive Management Team Program Managers and regulatory bodies
- Analyse existing programs services or activities with regard to financial performance and expected service outcomes
- Prepare forecasts and new business modelling as required
- Prepare grant acquittals
We are looking for candidates with the following:
You are an experienced accountant with a flexible and collaborative approach to working with your team. Your skills will be supported by possessing the following:
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications from a recognised institution or university.
- A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia or CPA Australia.
- Technical skills and experience in management reporting budgeting and forecasting experience
- Investigative and problem-solving skills with capability to interpret and analyse financial information including the ability to make some adaptation to techniques or processes that affect the way work is organized
- Ability to work autonomously and prioritise tasks
- Advanced Excel skills with a high degree of proficiency utilising other Microsoft Office applications
- Minimum 5 years experience in a Management Accountant role
