DevOps Engineer Secure Infrastructure (SC Clearance)

Position Description:

Due to the secure nature of the programme you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This position will be based on site near Gloucester 5 days a week.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

In this role you will design build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks to support the delivery of secure reliable systems within on-premise environments. You will take ownership of streamlining development and deployment workflows ensuring platforms are scalable resilient and aligned with business and technical requirements.

You will work closely with software developers infrastructure engineers and security teams to implement best practices across automation containerisation and system monitoring. Supported by a collaborative team you will contribute creative solutions to improve performance enhance deployment speed and maintain high standards of system reliability and security.

Build & Maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and Git-based platforms

Automate & Optimise infrastructure provisioning using Terraform Ansible and scripting

Develop & Support backend tooling using Java Python C# or C

Deploy & Manage containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes

Monitor & Troubleshoot system performance across infrastructure and applications

Integrate & Support messaging systems (ActiveMQ RabbitMQ) and databases (MySQL)

Secure & Maintain systems in line with PKI and enterprise security standards

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

You should have strong experience in DevOps or platform engineering roles with a solid understanding of automation CI/CD and infrastructure management within secure or enterprise environments. You will bring a proactive collaborative approach and the ability to work across complex technical landscapes.

You should have experience in DevOps automation or platform engineering roles

Proficiency in scripting or development (Java Python C# or C)

Strong Linux system administration skills

Experience with Terraform Ansible or similar automation tools

Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes

Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins Git Bitbucket)

Knowledge of messaging systems (ActiveMQ RabbitMQ) and MySQL

Understanding of PKI and security best practices
