Responsibilities/Assignment Deliverables

• Develops recommends implements and manages the technical architecture (hardware software database and communications) which will be used for all or specific applications in a large distributed cross-platform environment.
  

Technology Architect

• Leadership experience in the development and implementation of technical architectures at the specified experience level.
  
• Extensive experience with at least three different platforms operating systems environments database technologies and communications protocols.
  
• Experience with middleware and gateways.
  
• Knowledge of performance considerations in different environments.
  
• Experience in structured methodologies for the design development and implementation of applications.
  
• Extensive experience in systems analysis and design in large systems environments.
  
• Knowledge and experience designing processes around ITIL and is able to guide others using this methodology.
  
• Experience translating business requirements into reporting needs.
  
• Experience preparing conceptual logical and/or physical processes and data models.
  
• Experience developing recommending implementing and managing technical architecture.
  
• Experience in the use of Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools and other software tools such as project management tools.
  
• Awareness of emerging technologies trends and directions.

Must Haves:

• Extensive experience with Azure Cloud environments database technologies and communications protocols
  
• Experience with middleware and gateways
  
• Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g. models) based on Ontario Government Enterprise Architecture processes and practice
  
• Experience in cloud native micro services software tools and Java EE (J2EE) technologies
  
• Proficient with both front end and back end development including any associated areas such as database design/management and DevOps
  
• Experience / knowledge of REST SOAP web services.
  
• Experience / knowledge of Azure DevOps agile/scrum
  

Nice to Have:

• Prior OPS experience

• Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards
  
• High level of knowledge around the Angular framework and JavaScript.
  
• High level knowledge of front-end interfaces.
  
• Good understanding of Swagger files.
  
• Demonstrated ability to create self-contained reusable and testable modules and components that build on the elements and modules of core AngularJS.
  
• Experience creating designing and implementing layouts for new and existing web pages. Excellent knowledge of front-end web programming languages such as HTML CSS JavaScript and AngularJS with ability to render server-side and client-side content.
  
• Experience designing user interactions on websites developing servers and databases for website functionality and coding for mobile platforms.
  
• Experience ensuring front end code is able to query APIs.
  
• Experience with Java WebLogic and Java programming for web applications (Tomcat Weblogic) EJB Servlet
  
• Strong database skills and SQL skills (Oracle SQL Server)

Public Sector Experience:

• Experience with OPS architecture methodologies and GOITS standards would be an asset
  
• Familiar with OPS Threat Risk Assessment (TRA) and Privacy Impact Assessment (TRA) process
