Medical Assistants (MA) in the medical office setting supports providers by delivering direct and indirect patient care in a professional courteous and efficient manner. The MA may assist with clinical procedures maintains accurate documentation and provides administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations. The MA functions within their defined scope of practice (based on office type clinic/HOD) under supervision and in alignment with Mercys mission and standards of care.Position Details:

Schedule: Monday to Friday 40 hours/week
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
New hire must attend MA Clinic Academy training.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Experience: One year of experience in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Rooming patients obtaining vital signs and updating medical and medication histories
Preparing patients for exams and assisting with provider evaluations and procedures
Performing basic diagnostic testing as appropriate and documenting care accurately
Reinforcing providerdirected patient education
Maintaining clean wellstocked exam rooms and adhering to safety and infectionprevention standards
Assisting with scheduling tests referrals followups and supporting frontoffice operations
Participating in quality initiatives staff meetings and other MArelated duties

Work Environment:
Outpatient clinical setting with frequent patient interaction.
Requires standing walking lifting and use of clinical equipment.
Potential exposure to infectious materials; PPE provided.
Physical Requirements:
Position requires individuals to push pull and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
Position requires the ability to grip reach bend kneel twist and squat to perform duties.
