Senior CAD Drafter (2D) Electrical & Technical Design

Contract Duration: ASAP 31 December 2026 (Full-time 9 months)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior CAD Drafter (2D) to support the design and development of technical solutions within a highly regulated and safety-driven environment. This role involves creating detailed technical drawings electrical schematics and design documentation to meet operational and project requirements.

You will play a key role in translating concepts into accurate execution drawings while ensuring compliance with technical safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop technical solutions (tools systems electrical circuits layouts)
• Prepare and analyze design assignments including gathering missing data
• Interpret sketches drawings and perform on-site measurements
• Produce detailed drawings using specialized CAD/design software
• Create electrical schematics (e.g. P&IDs installation and layout drawings)
• Perform technical calculations (e.g. strength calculations cable sizing)
• Select appropriate materials and components based on technical and safety requirements
• Maintain and manage drawing databases and documentation lifecycle (design as-built)
• Contribute to technical specifications and ensure compliance during design phases
• Prepare technical construction files and documentation
• Support internal teams and external stakeholders with technical expertise
• Handle supplier interactions and technical queries
• Assist in preparing CE MOC and construction dossiers

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
• Strong experience in 2D CAD drafting
• Knowledge of the following tools and domains:
  • AutoCAD EPLAN Caneco
  • Electrical systems and instrumentation
  • Automation hardware
  • Fiber optics and data communication
  • AREI regulations
• Experience with technical drawing software and engineering calculations
• Understanding of safety standards in complex or regulated environments
• BA4 certification is an advantage
• Strong analytical problem-solving and detail-oriented mindset

Languages

• Dutch: Native or bilingual proficiency

Additional Information

• Candidates with knowledge of compliance documentation (CE MOC) are highly valued
• Experience in high-safety or industrial environments is a strong plus
